The talk between ASTORY, the producer of "The Kidnapping Day" which was named one of the 20 best Korean dramas of 2023 by Forbes and the British producer SHUK begins, talking about the remake co-production of "The Kidnapping Day".
Desperate to pay for his daughter's hospital bills, Myeong-Jun reluctantly agrees to kidnap an 11-year-old girl named Ro-Hee and blackmail her wealthy parents for ransom. On his way, he is having second thoughts when suddenly, Ro-Hee stumbles out and collapses in front of his car. She can't remember anything, so he pretends to be her father to avoid any suspicion. As Myeong-Jun struggles to make contact with her parents for the ransom, he returns to Ro-Hee's home to witness her parent's lifeless bodies being carried out by the police. Now implicated in a possible double homicide, Myeong-jun, arguably the worst kidnapper in the world, is forced to go on the run with Ro-Hee, who begins to grow more suspicious of who he really is.
